In an effort to assist families with multiple children in our school, please review the following dismissal procedure for Kindergarten through Seventh Grade:
1. Siblings can be dismissed together from the same location during the 3:30 dismissal. The procedure listed in this email CANNOT be used for PK3 and PK4 students. In order to utilize this option, the "oldest" sibling in your family MUST BE IN GRADE 3 OR OLDER.
2. Once classes come down to their designated areas for dismissal, oldest siblings will be allowed to go to pick up their younger siblings from their designated dismissal locations. The oldest siblings will move through campus, they will not exit campus while collecting younger siblings.
3. All sibling groups will then report to the whitetop and will be supervised by our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Milano. If you have multiple children in your family, you can come to the whitetop at 3:30 to pick up all your children at once.
For example:
-John and Paul are brothers. John is in 4th grade and Paul is in 2nd Grade. At dismissal, John will go with his class to Gate 2, which is his normal dismissal location. John's teacher will then allow John to go over to Gate 1, which is where Second Grade is dismissed. John will pick up Paul inside of Gate 1, and tell Paul's teacher that he is taking Paul. John and Paul will then walk together to the whitetop. John and Paul's mother will come to the whitetop at 3:30 and pick up both boys together.
***If you have multiple children in your family, and want them picked up all together, at the same time, please do the following:
1. Have an "oldest" sibling in your family that is in Third Grade or higher.
2. Discuss this plan with your children and ensure they understand it. Please reiterate to the oldest sibling that the oldest sibling must inform his/her teacher that he/she is going to pick up younger siblings. When picking up younger siblings, the oldest sibling must inform the teacher of any/all younger siblings that he/she is taking those siblings to the whitetop.
3. Email your child's teacher or send a physical note to your child's teacher. For the oldest sibling, the note should refer to the fact that the older sibling has your permission to pick up the younger siblings and walk them to the whitetop for dismissal. For all younger siblings, the note should refer to the fact that the older sibling will pick up the younger sibling at the "regular" dismissal location and walk the younger sibling to the whitetop for dismissal.
4. Please do not email or send physical notes to the school office, the Office Manager, or the school administration about dismissal preferences.
